Birds on the Endangered Species List

The Oriental Stork

I recently found this video of Birds on the Endangered Species List. A big part of Birding Planet’s mission is to bring awareness about birds that are vulnerable or are facing extinction, that is mainly why I set up the donation page.

Endangered species are species that the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) have classified as likely to become extinct.

1,102 animals and 1,197 plants were on that list 1998. In 2014 there are 3,079 animals and 2,655 plants on the Red List which means birds are not becoming safer. More than 40% are the most endangered species and are at risk for extinction.

Here is the video (please note: this video was not made by me or anyone associated with Birding Planet)
